Reaction Biology Corporation (RBC) now offers an expanding line of active, human recombinant HMTs. As the premier provider of HMT profiling and HTS services RBC is uniquely placed to develop and deliver recombinant HMT enzymes that are not only active but compatible with HTS assay conditions. In RBC’s experience, many published recombinant HMT constructs and commercially available HMTs require high enzyme concentrations, saturating substrate levels and lengthy sample processing (e.g. SDS-PAGE/autoradiography; Antibody generation or substrate labeling) to simply demonstrate methyltransferase activity. The need for such conditions is, of course, a huge drawback for drug discovery work.
