Reaction Biology Corp (RBC), a Malvern PA - based pharmaceutical research company, seeks an experienced enzymologist with demonstrated assay development skills.

Principal Responsibilities:

Independently design, develop and execute a variety of enzymatic assays effectively as requested from customers.
Independently design and elucidate small molecules’ mechanism of actions towards a variety of enzymatic targets.
Interact directly with customers to understand their requests, trouble shoot assay problems and propose/pursue solutions.
Screen and characterize small molecule compounds and determine the mode of compound action.
Be able to utilize literature and internal data sets to design and test target modulation hypotheses.

Qualifications:

PhD or equivalent in biochemistry or related discipline with postdoctoral experience
Extensive experience in steady-state kinetic characterization of enzyme, substrate and inhibitor mechanisms.
Scientific and technical background in drug discovery, with demonstrated proficiency in assay development, optimization, and screening with small molecules.
Attention to detail, and organization skills are critical
Collaborative and proactive attitude with excellent written and oral communication skills
Flexibility to accommodate to rapidly changing priorities and deadline

Reaction Biology Corp (RBC), a Malvern PA - based pharmaceutical research company, seeks an experienced medicinal chemist with demonstrated technical writing skills. Tasks in this full time job include:

Evaluating assay research results, researching potential pharmaceutical methods for those results, and creating full grant applications for funding research into those methods:
Contributing to the researching, writing and prosecution of patent applications;
Designing analog libraries from initial screening information;
Project management with CRO’s;
Supervising and executing medicinal chemistry synthesis.
The successful applicant must have previous medicinal chemistry experience in devising synthesis routes and creating analogs, as well as demonstrated technical writing and language skills. Applicants may be asked to demonstrate their fluency with math, Excel, and a brief writing exercise. Complete fluency with English is also necessary. References and a background check will be required. This position requires a Ph.D. in chemistry.

Job Description

Principal Responsibilities:
With minimum of supervision, the candidate should be able to design, develop and execute a variety of biophysical based assays, including SPR, ITC, Thermal shift etc.
Independently design and elucidate small molecules’ mechanism of actions towards a variety of biological targets.
Interact directly with customers to understand their requests, trouble shoot assay problems and propose/pursue solutions.
Screen and characterize small molecule compounds and determine the mode of compound action.
Be able to utilize literature and internal data sets to design and test target modulation hypotheses.

MS or equivalent in biochemistry and biophysics or related discipline
With 3+ years of working experience
Ideal candidate would have demonstrated proficiency in assay development, optimization, and screening with small molecules.
